Privacy Policy

This policy describes the limited information Wareham Residents Directory receives, how it is handled, and the choices available to visitors. It is a private reference and does not require an account or keep a database of resident records. Public records held by Wareham, Plymouth County, or Massachusetts custodians are governed by those custodians and their legal rules.

Information You Submit

Text entered into a search form, such as a name, telephone number, or address, is sent to the third-party provider that supplies search results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those search entries. If you contact us directly, we receive the information in your message and use it to respond.

Automatic Technical Data

Like most hosted services, the site may receive routine log information such as an IP address, browser type, page request, and timestamp. We review this information in aggregate to maintain security, diagnose errors, and understand general use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement.

How We Use It

Limited technical and contact information is used to operate, protect, measure, and improve the service, and to answer messages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles from the information described here.

Other Sites and Search Providers

Links point to official Wareham, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, library, archive, and third-party resources. Those services apply their own privacy terms to information submitted on their pages. Sponsored-result providers also control the data sent to their search forms.

Service Providers and Disclosure

Hosting, analytics, and support providers may process ordinary technical data for us. Information may also be disclosed when required by valid legal process. We do not otherwise share visitor information as a product.

Safeguards and Retention

The service uses an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for the operational, security, and measurement purposes described here. Because there are no user accounts, the site does not hold a visitor password or account profile.

Visitors Under 18

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor sent personal information directly to us, use the contact route so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

Your Requests and Public Records

You may ask about personal information we retain by using the Contact Us page. Massachusetts does not have a verified comprehensive consumer deletion or universal-opt-out law in the sources used for this reference; 201 CMR 17.00 is a data-security standard, not a general right to remove lawful public records. A request to remove or correct a Wareham public record belongs with the record custodian, not this private reference. The Massachusetts Public Records Law is M.G.L. c.66 §10.

Some public records carry specific limits. Vital-record access is controlled by M.G.L. c.46 §§ 2 and 13. The Address Confidentiality Program is authorized by M.G.L. c.9A and 950 CMR 130.00. Confidential voter registration is governed by M.G.L. c.51 §§37, 41, 51A and 950 CMR 49.00. Motor-vehicle personal information is restricted by the Driver Privacy Protection Act, 18 U.S.C. §§2721–2725.

Policy Changes

Any revision will appear on this page. Continued use after a posted change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
